Celebrating Birmingham's Musical Legacy
The Birmingham Music Museum is a participatory digital and pop-up museum that preserves and celebrates the city’s music heritage through community stories, archives, and live events. We believe that every record, flyer, and memory is a vital piece of the city's identity. Our mission is to ensure the rhythm of Birmingham continues to inspire future generations by bridging the gap between history and the modern scene.
Our Journey
The Birmingham Music Museum was born from a passion for the city’s vibrant sonic landscapes. What began as a series of local history walks celebrating local legends has evolved into a participatory digital and physical project. We work closely with curators, musicians, and the community to archive the sounds, stories, and spaces that define Birmingham’s global musical influence.
Preserving Musical Heritage
We document Birmingham's diverse musical evolution, from the industrial roots of heavy metal to the vibrant contemporary scenes, ensuring every beat is archived for the future.
Empowering Communities
By putting the community at the heart of our mission, we celebrate the fans, venues, and local legends who define the city's unique cultural landscape.
